Palm Island Resort & Leisure Complex – Dubai

Jebel Ali Properties, a division of the Jebel Ali Port Authority in Dubai, UAE, assigned Parsons responsibility for the development of a conceptual Master Plan for the Trunk Component of Palm Island, a major manmade island being developed in Dubai to accommodate a variety of resort and recreational facilities. Over the past decade, Dubai has made significant investments in tourism infrastructure, including a new airport and the world’s tallest hotel, the $1 billion Burj al Arab. The Palm Island project is intended to address the need for Dubai to create additional beach and waterfront sites as it accommodates new leisure and recreational demands. The overall design program for the Trunk Component of the project includes: 6 resort hotels, 1000 apartment units, retail, restaurant and related space, 2 marinas, a mosque, support facilities and services.

- Analysis of site carrying capacity potentials
- Development of land use and facility programming parameters
- Preparation of Master Plan concept and supporting conceptual planning including: land use, circulation, parcelization, building density and massing, site elevations, etc.
